Joy of Life (2019)

In the ancient empire of Southern Qing, Fan Xian is born with memories of the 21st century. Raised by his grandmother in a rural town, he is the illegitimate son of the Minister of Finance. After an assassination attempt, Fan Xian decides to venture into the capital to uncover the truth about his mysterious mother and the reason behind the attempt on his life.

In the capital, Fan Xian becomes entangled in the intrigues of the Emperor and the two Princes, as well as the Overwatch Department. He meets Lin Wan Er, the sickly illegitimate daughter of Princess Royal, and falls in love with her. As Fan Xian navigates the complexities of the capital, he begins to question his whole identity and sets out to find his true life goals.

With his knowledge from the 21st century and his skills in martial arts and poison, Fan Xian must use his wits to survive in a world of power struggles and political intrigue. As he delves deeper into the mysteries of the capital, Fan Xian discovers that his life is not as simple as he thought, and that his destiny is intertwined with the fate of the empire.
