Ajin: Demi-Human (2017)
In a world where certain individuals possess the ability to regenerate from fatal injuries, Kei Nagai is a high school student who discovers he is one of these rare beings known as Ajin after a tragic car accident. Instead of being mourned, he finds himself thrust into a nightmarish reality where he is hunted by both the government and society at large, who view Ajin as dangerous and inhuman. As he grapples with his newfound identity, Kei must navigate a treacherous landscape filled with fear, betrayal, and the constant threat of capture.
As Kei evades relentless pursuers, he encounters other demi-humans who share his plight. Together, they form an uneasy alliance, each dealing with their own struggles and moral dilemmas. The group learns to harness their unique abilities, but the risks are high as they face not only human adversaries but also the darker sides of their own nature. The bond they forge is tested as they confront the ethical implications of their immortality and the violent world that seeks to exploit them.
In a race against time, Kei must decide what it means to be truly alive in a society that deems him a monster. With the government conducting cruel experiments on captured Ajin, he becomes determined to fight back against the oppressive forces seeking to control and eliminate his kind. As the stakes rise and the lines between friend and foe blur, Kei's journey evolves into a battle for survival, identity, and ultimately, freedom from the chains of fear and prejudice that bind him and his fellow demi-humans.
